Boats and projects
The boats below are part of the channel’s earlier story; ownership and equipment may have changed since those episodes.
Boat details
RAN Sailing has a 1988 Najad 440, but they are now building a new boat:
Refits and equipment
They have done a ton of upgrades including:
- Iridium Go! and Spot 3 Satellite GPS
- Raymarine e7D Cartography device
- Upgraded electric toilets
They don’t have a watermaker on this current boat, but they did have one on their previous one.
Journeys and notable episodes
Places in the story
These locations refer to earlier episodes, not a live position.
RAN Sailing was in Mayreau, which is in the Grenadines.
This is reflected in both their Instagram and YouTube channels, making their content up to date.
Earlier sailing journeys
RAN Sailing has explored:
- Europe and the East Atlantic
- The Caribbean and The Pacific
They have also focused a lot on boat work.
Collaborations
I haven’t seen RAN Sailing on other channels, although I’ve seen them sometimes in the comments section. If you do see them, let me know via my contact page.
Notable episodes
Some interesting moments in their journey include:
- Getting border at sea
- Sending out a PAN PAN PAN
- Having a 10kg heavy hatch falling on Malin’s big toe (ouch!)
- Giving birth AND buying a boat in the very same week!
Much of their best sailing happened before their daughter Vega came into the world, although the family does plan to resume more challenging sails now that Vera is growing up fast.
Frequently asked questions
Which boat names appear in the story?
S/V RAN II
Is there a verified net-worth figure?
No verified financial disclosure is cited in this profile. The earlier estimate has been removed because a boat’s value, video views and assumed income do not establish someone’s net worth.
